Zé Fonte
José Fonte, born in Lisbon on January 6, 2003, is a student at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema (Higher School of Theater and Cinema) in Amadora. After studying science and technology in secondary school, he graduated in Dental Prosthetics from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the University of Lisbon in 2024. That same year, he decided to follow his dream and apply for a degree in cinema. At ESTC, he participated in several projects, notably his first screenplay, Entre a Chave e a Parede (Between the Key and the Wall, 2025), and the post-production editing of Novidades (News, 2025), directed by his colleague Leonor Cintra. Outside of school, he has participated as a camera operator and production assistant in films organized by his third-year colleagues at ESTC. At the age of 23, he directed his first short film, Philia (2026).
